We are glad that you have stopped by our website to discover more about First Baptist, because discovery is what we are all about.  Our church wants to discover more about God and His plan for our lives.  We want to be sure that others discover that God has a wonderful plan for their lives.  And together, we want to discover what it means to live with a purpose.


When you come to First Baptist Church...

You will discover that we teach the Bible, and emphasize the importance of applying it to everyday life.  Our pastor believes we can depend on the Bible as God's Word that speaks truth, so he preaches timely messages from the Bible that relate to the needs of people.  Throughout our entire church family, nursery to senior adults, we emphasize Bible teaching, scripture memorization, and spiritual discipleship.  These opportunities are offered through Sunday morning classes, Sunday night discipleship & AWANA, and mid-week small groups.

You will discover that we desire for everyone to encounter God through worship.  First Baptist seeks to offer a variety of opportunities for God's people to worship Him.  We acknowledge that worship of God is not about our preferences, but about God's priority in our life.  We encourage passionate worship of God that is not limited to a worship service, but rather is expressed through our individual lives as we offer ourselves daily, as living sacrifices.  

You will discover friendly, caring members who welcome new people and work to make them feel at home.  First Baptist welcomes people of all ages because we want to show them the same kind of love that we believe God has shown to us.  Fellowship is an important part of our church family life.  People should find it easy to integrate quickly into our church family because we work hard to provide a connection for everyone, from the very youngest among us to the very oldest.

You will discover we believe that God blesses people to be a blessing, and that belief defines our mission.  First Baptist is involved in mission work throughout our community.  We offer many programs to minister to a variety of people locally.  However, our mission work extends beyond our own area.  First Baptist sponsors mission work in New Orleans, Puerto Rico, and Burkina Faso, West Africa.  Our Missions Council actively works to identify new areas to share the gospel and bless others.  

You will discover we have a long, stable history, but we also have an exciting, ever-developing future.  First Baptist has been around for quite a while, but we are constantly seeking to find new ways to minister to the needs of people.  We hope that you will consider being a part of our ministry and joining with us in the exciting journey of discovering God's will and living for His purpose day by day.
